Which curtain?

Start with the room, not the catalogue.

Six situations cover most Australian windows. Pick yours and we'll take you to the right curtain, with a from-price you can see before you touch a tape measure.

White sheer curtains in S-Fold waves across a lounge room window wall

from $494.96 · Made in Australia

Sheer curtains

Soft daylight and daytime privacy, without going dark.

A fine open-weave fabric that turns hard sun into a glow and stops people seeing in during the day. Six sheer ranges on the site: HAALUX Aire, Bali, Coco, Homestead, Mykonos and Vevey.

  • Six sheer ranges, from crisp and white through to a soft linen look
  • Made to your width and drop, with the fullness worked out for you
  • Hem choice: a lead-weight hem that hangs straight, or a 70 mm weighted hem
  • Floor finish: 20 mm off the floor, touching, or puddled (we add 20 mm to the drop)
White sheer curtain hem just touching a timber floor, with daylight coming through the fabric

Best for: Lounge rooms, dining rooms, any window you look out of all day

Stone-coloured blockout curtains closed across a bedroom window at night

from $494.96 · Made in Australia

Blockout curtains

A dark room, and a warmer one.

A dense fabric that stops light coming through the curtain. Three blockout ranges: Galaxy, Soleil and Simplicity. Run the track past the window frame on both sides and you cut the light down the edges too.

  • Three blockout ranges in the neutrals people actually order
  • Blocks light through the fabric; a wider track and a deeper return cut the edge light
  • The extra layer at the glass helps in winter and in a west-facing room
  • Same heading, track and hem choices as the sheers

Best for: Bedrooms, nurseries, media rooms, west-facing windows

Double curtains in a bedroom: a sheer layer closed at the front and a blockout layer stacked to the side

from $931.30 · Made in Australia

Double curtains

A sheer and a blockout on one double track.

Two curtains on one double track: usually a sheer at the front and a blockout behind it. Close the sheer by day for soft light and privacy, then draw the blockout at night. You choose each curtain’s fabric, heading, opening, hem and length.

  • One double track, two curtains that open on their own, one tidy line at the ceiling
  • Sheer in front and blockout behind, or the other way round
  • Each curtain opens its own way: left, right, or as a pair from the centre
  • S-fold, pinch pleat or pencil pleat on either curtain, and a hand-drawn or motorised Somfy track
Double curtains at the floor: a white sheer in front of a taupe blockout, both hems touching a timber floor

Best for: Bedrooms, lounge rooms that turn into a TV room at night, and big windows

Tall sheer curtains gliding open on a motorised ceiling track in a double-height living room

Somfy, priced by width · Made in Australia

Motorised curtains

One remote, no cords, hem stays level.

Choose Motorised as your track in the configurator. Somfy Movelite runs on a rechargeable battery and needs no electrician. Somfy Glydea 35e is hard-wired, for a new build or a renovation you’re already wiring.

  • Somfy Movelite battery track: charger included, no wiring, charge it a couple of times a year
  • Somfy Glydea 35e hard-wired track: quiet, for a wired new build or renovation
  • Situo 1 remote included with either; no cords or wands at the window at all
  • Made for tall, wide or hard-to-reach windows, and for anyone who wants one button

Best for: Double-height windows, wide openings, bedrooms you want to wake up in

Nine ranges, 125 colours

Sheer or blockout. Then the colour.

Our designers pick the ranges from Australian mills — Warwick, Nettex, Zepel, Charles Parsons, Profile, Gunnerson, Baekart and Materialised. Every swatch below is a photo of the real fabric. Order up to 10, free

Sheer — six ranges

Blockout — three ranges

The top of the curtain

Three headings. They hang differently.

The heading decides the line of the fabric and how tightly it stacks back. Pick it in the configurator; the price updates as you do.

S-Fold

Continuous soft waves that stack back tightly. The cleanest modern line.

Pinch pleat

Fabric pinched into groups at the top and hooked into the track. Double pinch for a lighter look, triple for a fuller, more formal one.

Pencil pleat

Even, narrow gathers along a corded tape. The traditional look, and the softest of the three at the top.

Track, flow and finish

The bits people forget, asked for you.

The configurator walks through every one of these in order, in plain English, with the price updating as you choose. Nothing is left for a phone call afterwards.

  1. 01

    Where the track goes

Into the ceiling for a recessed line, or on the wall above the window. A wall fit adds $20 and needs the drop measured from the track, not the glass.

    Open the measure guide
  2. 02

    Which track

A residential or designer hand-drawn track at $60 per metre, or a motorised Somfy track priced by width. Track colour is white or black. Choose free flow to let the fabric hang loose, or fixed flow to hold the waves in place.

  3. 03

    How it opens

Stack left or right, or open as a pair from the centre. The stack is the space the open curtain takes up. Hand-drawn tracks come with a wand, a slim rod, in 910, 1,220 or 1,520 mm.

  4. 04

    Where it finishes

Choose a lead-weight hem or a 70 mm weighted hem. Then finish 20 mm off the floor, touching it, or puddled: for puddled, we add the 20 mm for you.

Why it's easy

Four steps, and you can do every one of them.

Free samples, a measure guide with a video, a configurator that shows the price as you go, and a phone that a person answers. That is the whole method.

  1. 01

    Order free samples

Real fabric swatches, posted free. Sheer fabrics read completely differently in your own light, so this is the step worth taking. They post separately and never hold up an order.

  2. 02

    Measure up

Curtains are measured from the track, not the window, and wider than the opening so they stack off the glass. The guide shows exactly where to put the tape.

    Design and order online

Fabric, heading, track, opening, hem and floor finish, with the price updating as you go. Tick the Perfect Fit Guarantee and we'll video call you to check your measurements before anything is cut.

    Fit it yourself

The track comes with brackets and instructions, and the curtains arrive ready to hook on. You need a drill, a level and our video, and if you get stuck, call 1300 195 797.

Common questions

Questions people ask before they order curtains.

See all FAQs

Need a replacement part? Spare parts for curtains Spare motors

Are your curtains made in Australia?

Yes. Every curtain is sewn to your measurements in Australia, on Rollease Acmeda hardware. We don't sell imported or ready-made curtains.

How do I measure for curtains?

Measure the track, not the window. Run the track at least 150 mm past the frame on each side, so the open curtain clears the glass. Then measure the drop from the track to where you want the hem.

What's the difference between sheer and blockout?

Sheer is a see-through fabric: it softens daylight and gives privacy by day, but not at night with the lights on. Blockout stops light coming through the fabric. Double curtains give you both on one track.

Which heading should I choose?

S-fold gives a clean modern line and stacks back tightly. Pinch pleat, double or triple, gives a more formal look, and pencil pleat gives even gathers. The designer shows each price as you pick.

What happens if I measure wrong?

Add the Perfect Fit Guarantee when you design it (+$39 a curtain, $59 for double curtains). We video call you to check your measurements before we make it. If a measuring error means it still arrives the wrong size, we make it again and cover delivery both ways.

How long do custom curtains take?

Curtains are dispatched in 8–15 business days from your order. Free samples post separately and never delay an order.

How much is delivery?

Worked out by postcode at checkout: from $49, and free over $599 to metro and regional NSW, VIC, QLD, ACT and metro SA.

Can I motorise curtains?

Yes. Choose a motorised track: a Somfy Movelite on battery, with a charger, or a hard-wired Somfy Glydea 35e for a new build. Both come with a Situo 1 remote.

Do I need a professional to install them?

No. The track comes with brackets and instructions and the curtains arrive ready to hook on. Most people do a room in an afternoon with a drill and a level. If you get stuck, call 1300 195 797.
