Colours

Slats and colours

Tilt the slats half-open for daylight with privacy, or close them for more. These are the 6 colours the designer shows today.

Tilted half-open, the slats let daylight in and stop people seeing in clearly.

Closed, they block most of the light. Raised, the whole window is clear.

In the designer, our PVC venetian is called Visionwood.

Enter your width and drop. The drop is the height you want covered.

Then pick the colour, the slat width, the cord side and hold-down clips. The price updates with every choice.

Fit

Fit and controls

Recess fit means the blind sits inside the recess, the opening the window sits in. Face fit means it goes on the wall or frame, over the opening, and blocks more light around the edges.

The blind

  • Slat width: 50 mm is the classic venetian look. 63 mm means fewer, wider slats and a clearer view when tilted open.
  • Lift cord and tilt control: the cord raises the blind, and the tilt control angles the slats. Both hang on one side.
  • Cord side: left or right, as you look from inside the room. Pick the side you can reach without leaning over furniture.
  • Hold-down clips: for a door, or a window that opens inwards. They pin the bottom rail, which is the bar at the base, so the blind doesn’t swing.

Cords must be fitted so they can't hang in a loop within a child's reach. That's Australia's mandatory child-safety standard for corded window coverings, and our install guide shows how.

Measuring

How to measure

You need a steel tape measure and a few minutes per window.

  1. 01

    Recess fit

Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom, and use the smallest. Measure the drop on the left, middle and right, and use the smallest. We take off a small allowance so the blind runs freely.

  2. 02

    Face fit

Measure the area you want covered. Go at least 50 mm past the recess on each side, and at the top and bottom.

  3. 03

    Check the size

We make PVC venetians from 240 mm up to 2,400 mm wide, and 300 mm to 2,600 mm drop. The designer tells you straight away if a size won’t work.

Is PVC the same as faux wood?

Yes. PVC venetians are often called faux wood: PVC slats with a timber look. Ours are the Visionwood range, in 50 or 63 mm slats.

Are PVC venetian blinds good for bathrooms?

Yes. PVC doesn’t mind steam, and it wipes clean with a damp cloth. It suits kitchens, bathrooms and laundries as well as dry rooms.

Should I choose 50 mm or 63 mm slats?

50 mm is the classic venetian look. 63 mm has fewer, wider slats and a clearer view when tilted open.

What colours do PVC venetians come in?

How big can you make a PVC venetian?

From 240 mm up to 2,400 mm wide, and 300 mm to 2,600 mm drop. For a wider window, use two blinds side by side.

PVC or timber venetians?

PVC has a timber look, handles steam and wipes clean. Timber is real wood, for dry rooms like lounge rooms, bedrooms and studies.
