Each has its own designer. Choose the motor option in the designer, and it adds the motor as you go.

A motor fits inside the tube of each blind, the roll at the top. Battery or wired.

For a home you already live in, battery is the usual choice. If you’re building or renovating, a wired motor means you never charge anything.

Pick a roller motor by the size of the blind. If you’re between two, go one size up: a bigger motor is quieter under load.

- Remotes must match the motor brand: Acmeda motors use a Push remote, 5-channel ($120) or 15-channel ($126), in white or black. Somfy motors use a Situo 1 ($131) or Situo 5 ($202) remote, or a Smoove wall switch ($131).
- One remote for the house: it runs every motorised blind, if the motors are the same brand. A channel is one blind or a group of blinds. If you already have a remote, choose no remote.
- Curtain tracks: a Somfy Movelite battery track (charger and Situo 1 remote included), or a hard-wired Somfy Glydea 35e track (Situo 1 remote included). Both are priced by width.
- Double rollers: motorise the front blind only, or both. Each motorised blind has its own motor, and one remote runs them all.

Measuring is the same as for any blind or curtain. Fitting depends on the motor.

Motors arrive charged and paired. Test them on the bench before you go up the ladder.

Is it worth getting motorised blinds?
For windows that are hard to reach, a row of blinds you open together, or a wide curtain, yes. For an easy window you open once a day, the chain that comes with a roller blind does the job.
Do motorised blinds need an electrician?
Battery motors don’t: you fit the blind yourself. Wired motors do, because an electrician runs power to the window.
How often do I charge a battery motor?
Battery roller motors charge from a USB cable about twice a year. The Somfy Movelite curtain track comes with a charger, and needs charging a few times a year.
Can one remote run all my blinds?
Yes, if the motors are the same brand. An Acmeda Push 15-channel remote runs up to 15 blinds or groups. A Somfy Situo 5 runs up to five.
Can I motorise roman, venetian or vertical blinds?
Not with us. Motors are available on roller blinds, double roller blinds, curtains and double curtains. For a dark room on a remote, choose a blockout roller blind.
Can I motorise my existing blinds?
Our motors come fitted inside a new blind or curtain track. We don’t sell a kit for a blind you already own. Call 1300 195 797 and we’ll talk it through.
How much does a motor add?
On a roller blind, a motor adds $335 to $560, plus a remote from $120 if you don’t have one. Curtain tracks are priced by width. The designer shows the total as you choose.
Are motors covered by the warranty?
Yes. Our 5-year warranty is on every product, including motors.
How long do motorised blinds take?
We dispatch it 8 to 15 business days after you order.
