Light
Blockout fabric stops light coming through the fabric. A little still gets in around the edges. These cut it down:

Side channels? We don’t make them. Side channels, or side tracks, are rails some brands run down each side of a roller blind. Without them, a roller on its own lets a thin line of light in at the edges. A face fit, a pelmet and a curtain in front close most of it.
Blockout and blackout mean the same thing. Blockout is the word used in Australia.
Pick a style
Every style here comes in blockout fabric. Start with the window and how you use the room.

The simplest blockout blind. A single sheet of fabric on a tube, fitted inside the opening or on the wall, with a chain or a motor.

Blockout fabric stops light coming through the fabric. A little still gets in around the edges. Fitting the blind on the wall over the opening, adding a pelmet to a roller blind, or running a curtain track past the frame all cut that edge light down.
A blockout roller blind is the simplest choice and costs the least. For a softer look, choose a roman blind or blockout curtains. For a sliding door or a very wide window, choose panel glide blinds.
Yes. A double roller blind puts a blockout blind and a translucent blind on one bracket. Or hang a sheer curtain in front of a blockout roller blind; our guide to pairing them shows how.

No. We don’t make side channels (also called side tracks), so a roller blind on its own lets a thin line of light in at the edges. To close most of it, fit the blind on the wall around the opening, at least 50 mm each side and 70 mm above, add a pelmet, or hang a blockout curtain in front.
Yes. A blockout roller fitted on the wall around the window is the simplest way to make a baby’s room dark. Fit the child-safety clip that comes with the chain so the chain is held taut, keep the cot away from the window, or choose a motor so there’s no chain at all. Our nursery guide has more.
You need two numbers: the width and the drop. For a recess fit, measure inside the opening, and we take a little off the width so the blind runs freely. For a face fit, measure the area you want covered: at least 50 mm past the opening each side and 70 mm above. Our measuring guide walks you through it. Not sure? Add the Perfect Fit Guarantee (+$19 a blind) and we video call you to check your measurements before we make it.
We make them in Australia and dispatch them in 8 to 15 business days. The delivery cost for your postcode shows at checkout, before you pay. Free samples post separately, so they never hold up an order.
