How ordering custom blinds online works.
Five steps. You do every one of them at your own pace, and a person answers the phone at every one of them. Here is exactly what happens between "we need blinds" and "they're up".

Order free samples
Real fabric, posted free. The colour test that matters is on your wall, not a screen.
Every swatch on the site is a photo of the real fabric, but light changes everything: a chalk blockout reads warm at 4 pm and cool at 8 am. Order up to 10 samples, any colour, and tape them to the window for a day.
Samples post separately, so they never hold up an order. Most people order two or three colours of the one fabric and pick the winner in daylight.

Decide the fit, then measure
A steel tape, a pencil, five minutes a window.
Two decisions first. Recess fit sits inside the window opening: neat, nothing on the wall, a slim line of light each side, and it needs about 60 mm of depth for a roller (125 mm for a double). Face fit mounts on the wall or architrave above the opening and overlaps it: the right call when the room has to be dark, the recess is shallow, or a handle is in the way.
Then measure in millimetres: width at the top, middle and bottom; drop at the left, centre and right. Recess fit takes the smallest of each. Face fit is the size you want the blind to be, usually the opening plus 50–70 mm each side. Our guide has a video for every common Australian window.

Design it online, see the price as you go
The configurator asks what a showroom consultant would ask, in the same order.
Product, fabric, width and drop, fit, control side, chain colour, pelmet, motor. The price updates with every choice, so you can trade a fabric up or a pelmet off and watch what it does. No email, no quote request, no one calling you back.
Two settings people skip and shouldn't: control side (put the chain on the side away from the bed, the cot or the door swing) and roll direction on rollers (front roll clears a window handle that would otherwise catch the fabric).

Nothing is on a shelf. Every blind and curtain is cut to your measurements after you order.
Blinds and curtains are made to your sizes and dispatched in 8–15 business days; plantation shutters take 4–6 weeks. You get an email when it leaves, with tracking, and the box is marked so the right blind goes to the right window.
Delivery is calculated by postcode and shown before you pay: from $49, and free on blinds and curtains over $599 across metro and regional NSW, VIC, QLD, ACT and metro SA.

Fit it yourself, with our video open
Two brackets, four screws, a drill and a level. Twenty minutes a window once you have done the first.
Buy fixings for your wall first: timber screws into a stud or architrave, plugs for masonry, toggles for plasterboard. We don't include them because every wall is different. Then mark, level, drill, clip the blind in and drop the chain down the control side.
Fit the chain tensioner (the small P-clip that holds the chain against the wall). Where a chain loop can hang within 1.6 metres of the floor, the law says it is fitted, and it takes one screw. Curtain tracks are an overhead job for two people; shutters take care and time. Every product has its own install video.

Straight answers
What if something goes wrong? And what DIY doesn't give you.
Measured wrong
With the Perfect Fit Guarantee, we make it again in the same fabric, delivery both ways covered. Without it, call 1300 195 797 and we work out the lowest-cost fix, which is usually a re-cut, not a new blind.
Damaged in transit
Photograph the box and the damage before you unpack further and email it to us the same day. We sort the replacement with the courier; you don't chase anyone.
Something fails later
5-year warranty on every product, including motors. A warranty claim is a phone call to us, not a shipping container.
What you don't get
Someone at your house to measure, recommend and install. If that is what you want, an online order isn't it, and we'd rather say so now. Some people hire a local handyperson for the drilling and still save the showroom margin.
Is it hard to install blinds yourself?
A roller is the easiest thing you will hang all year: two brackets and four screws. Curtain tracks are an overhead job for two people. Shutters take care and time. Every product has an install video, and a person answers 1300 195 797 if you get stuck.
What happens if I measure wrong?
Tick the Perfect Fit Guarantee at checkout ($19 to $69 depending on the product) and we video call you to check your measurements before anything is cut. If it still arrives out, we make it again in the same fabric and colour, delivery both ways covered; tell us within 14 days, up to 5 items per household, one remake each. Without the guarantee, call us and we work out the lowest-cost fix.
How long does it take?
Blinds and curtains are dispatched in 8–15 business days from your order. Plantation shutters take 4–6 weeks. Free samples post separately and never delay an order.
How much is delivery?

Do I need anyone to come to my house?
No. You measure, you order, you fit. If you would rather have someone measure and install, an online order is not that, and some people hire a local handyperson for the drilling. Either way the blind that arrives is the same made-to-measure product.
Can I order one blind to try first?
Yes. Plenty of people do a bedroom first and come back for the rest of the house. Doing the whole room in one order gets you free delivery over $599 and the whole-home pricing tiers.
