Create bright, airy spaces for family living and entertaining
Open-plan living areas required window solutions that maximized natural light while maintaining the serene, calming atmosphere essential to coastal design. Balance between brightness and glare control was critical.

Withstand Shellharbour's marine environment
Located between Wollongong and Kiama on the NSW South Coast, the home faces salt air, coastal humidity, and moisture exposure. All window furnishings needed marine-grade durability without compromising soft textures.​

Match HAAUS's signature coastal aesthetic
The design features white, timber, and modern finishes with a refined palette of soft greys and crisp whites balanced by warm timber tones. Window treatments needed to complement this cohesive coastal luxe style.​

Protect luxury finishes from coastal UV exposure
The home features New England Blackbutt flooring, Polytec joinery, and curated designer furnishings that needed protection from harsh coastal sun and UV damage. Window treatments must prevent fading while maintaining the light-filled aesthetic.

As a family home close to the beach, privacy requirements varied by room—living areas needed filtered light and daytime privacy, while bedrooms required complete light control and blackout capabilities.

Support multigenerational family lifestyle
With three generous bedrooms, media room, main bathroom, ensuite, and open-plan living, the home accommodates extended family and guests. Window solutions must support comfort, privacy, and versatility across all zones.

Sheer Curtains in Living Areas & Open-Plan Zones:
We specified premium sheer curtains in the living room, dining area, and open-plan spaces to create that signature soft, diffused glow while preserving ocean and beachside views. The S-fold curtain system in neutral white tones complements the crisp white walls, timber accents, and natural jute rugs. Light-filtering sheers provide daytime privacy while maintaining the bright, airy feel essential to coastal entertaining.​

Roller Blinds for Bedrooms & Media Rooms:
For the three bedrooms, media room, and ensuite, we installed blockout roller blinds in coastal-neutral fabrics. These provide complete light control for restful sleep and movie viewing while maintaining the refined aesthetic. The moisture-resistant properties ensure long-term performance in bathroom and ensuite applications.

Dual-Layer Systems for Maximum Flexibility:
In key living areas, we combined sheer curtains with roller blinds, allowing the family to adjust for different times of day—sheers during daytime for soft filtered light, blinds for evening privacy and temperature control.
