S-Fold sheers and roman blinds in
two joined Paddington terraces

Two heritage terraces were joined into one home, with a new glass extension across the back. We supplied every window furnishing in the house: soft S-Fold style sheers on ceiling track along the glass, roman blinds in the bedroom and ensuite, and layered curtains on rods in the front rooms.

What’s in this home

The front of the house kept its original detail: ceiling roses, arched doorways, marble fireplaces and tall sash windows. The back is new: kitchen, living and dining behind walls of glass, opening onto the garden. The window furnishings had to suit both halves and still feel like one home, so every room uses the same soft ivory and oatmeal tones.

This was a designer-led renovation. Interior design by Studio Jos, built by GC Built, project managed by The Collective Project. We supplied the window furnishings, and our sister company Quicksew made the curtains and sheers. See the project on Quicksew’s site. The home features in Forbes Australia’s October/November 2026 issue, in a four-page profile of Studio Jos.

Here’s what’s hanging on the windows, and which parts you can order from us yourself.

What you’re looking at

Sheers with a soft, even wave across the extension. In our curtain configurator that’s the “S-Fold” heading.

Tracks fixed to the ceiling, so the sheers fall in one clean line from ceiling to floor.

Long runs that wrap the corners, so the glass reads as one soft wall rather than a row of panels.

Floor-length drops that just touch the floor. That’s the “Bottom Clearance” setting when you order.

Roman blinds in the guest bedroom window and the main ensuite: a flat, tailored panel that folds up in neat stacks.

Layered sheers and curtains on rods in the front rooms and the main bedroom. These are a custom Euro pleat make by Quicksew, with a motorised rod in the main bedroom.

The glass extension

The kitchen, living and dining sit behind walls of glass on two sides. Sheers were the obvious call: they take the glare off the sun, give privacy from the neighbours, and still let you see the garden. The tracks are fixed to the ceiling, the sheers run around every corner, and the whole run slides back when the doors are open.

You can order the same setup. Pick Sheer Curtains, the S-Fold heading, a residential track, top fit, and set the drop to touch the floor. The sheer fabric in this home was chosen by the designer, so order free samples of our sheers to find the closest look in your own light.

The front rooms and main bedroom. At the front, the tall windows have a sheer layered under a heavier curtain, both on slim stainless rods. In the main bedroom the curtain is lined with blockout and runs on a motorised rod. These were custom made by Quicksew, who make and fit curtains to order. If you want the same look at home without the custom make, layer a blockout S-Fold curtain over a sheer, or put a blockout roller behind your sheers and order both to the same window width.

The roman blinds. Two windows got a roman instead of a curtain: the guest bedroom window and the main ensuite. A roman sits neatly inside a smaller window and folds up out of the way, so it suits a bathroom or a window beside a bed better than a full curtain. In the guest bedroom it pairs a sheer with a blockout for day and night. Start at Roman Blinds, then pick your light level and fabric.

Order the same setup

1. Measure. Width and drop for each window. Our measuring guides walk you through it, including how to measure for a ceiling-fixed track.

2. Configure. Sheer Curtains → S-Fold → Residential track → Top Fit → drop set to touch the floor. Add romans for the smaller windows: Roman Blinds → your light level and fabric. Order free samples first so you can see the fabric in your own light.

3. Install. Made to your sizes and posted to your door with the fittings. This home had its window furnishings fitted by a contractor, but ours are made to put up yourself: a drill, a level and a step ladder is the whole toolkit. Step-by-step install guides are on the product pages and under How-to Guides.
