Custom Blinds & Sheer Curtains —
Magenta Shores, NSW

Oak & Orange, the interior designers behind the Dream Home series, styled Magenta Palms with window furnishings from Home Blinds Australia. It’s a 3-bedroom townhouse at Magenta Shores, overlooking the golf course. The brief was to turn a blank canvas into a relaxed coastal holiday rental that guests would book all year. The window furnishings had to darken the bedrooms for sleep, control the sun and stand up to guests coming and going. The townhouse sleeps up to 8, with the resort’s pools, tennis courts, gym and beach close by, so everything had to be easy to look after.

Requirements & Challenges

Create a relaxed coastal look that holiday guests love

Dark bedrooms for sleep, soft and inviting by day

Hard-wearing and easy to look after in a busy holiday rental

Show off the golf course views and manage the bright coastal sun

Add soft, flowing sheers that don’t need constant upkeep

A resort-style look on a holiday rental budget

Suit a coastal home, with strong sun and sea air

What we supplied

We supplied Magenta Palms with blockout roller blinds and soft sheer curtains for the relaxed coastal look Oak & Orange are known for.

In the bedrooms, blockout roller blinds sit behind sheer curtains. The rollers do the hard work: a dark room for sleep, privacy from the golf course and light control through the day. The sheers in front soften the windows and give each bedroom a relaxed, resort feel, so guests feel they’re somewhere special.

In the living areas, the window furnishings make the most of the golf course views and take the edge off the strong coastal sun. They filter the light by day and open right up when you want the view.

The colours follow Oak & Orange’s coastal palette: soft neutrals that sit quietly with relaxed, natural styling. They suit the decor without competing with it, so the golf course stays the hero.

A holiday rental is hard on window furnishings, with new guests every few days. The blinds and curtains are made to measure in Australia and easy to care for, so there’s very little upkeep for the owner.

Fitting them DIY kept the cost within budget, and the finish still looks designer-styled. A holiday rental can have the look without the big price tag.

Results

Guests have given Magenta Palms 5-star reviews, and the styling is a big part of the appeal.

Blockout roller blinds behind soft sheer curtains give guests what they need: a dark, private room for a good night’s sleep, and a relaxed resort feel by day. With Oak & Orange’s coastal styling, the result is a warm, inviting space that’s easy to relax in.

The golf course views are a big reason guests book Magenta Palms. The curtains and blinds frame them, and guests can still control the light and privacy.

For the owner, a well-styled home helps it stand out to guests. The look comes from Oak & Orange’s design and our blinds and curtains working together.

Magenta Palms shows that a holiday rental deserves the same care with window furnishings as a family home. The right blinds and curtains help guests sleep well and enjoy the view.
